A couples massage gift voucher: a practical buying checklist

Choose a massage voucher that fits the recipients, covers the intended booking and has clear redemption terms before you pay.

Choose the gift before the wrapping

Decide whether you want to give a specified treatment or an amount towards a future booking. A treatment voucher may describe a particular duration and number of guests, while a monetary voucher leaves the recipients to choose and potentially pay a difference. Check that the advertised offer is for two people rather than an individual appointment. Consider whether the recipients want to share a room, can travel to the branch and would enjoy the format. A surprise should still leave room for their preferences about touch and treatment.

Check that the recipients can use it

Before paying, ask which branch accepts the voucher, how the recipients redeem it and whether they must contact the salon rather than use the ordinary online checkout. Check restrictions on days, treatments and combinations with offers. Manibus, for example, describes its duo appointments as Sunday-only and in separate rooms; a voucher does not remove those appointment conditions. For any provider, confirm actual availability before promising a particular date. Leave the recipients the option to arrange a suitable time instead of fixing a booking they cannot change.

Keep the validity and purchase details

Read the stated expiry and save the purchase receipt and terms. ACM ConsuWijzer explains that purchased gift vouchers bought after 1 January 2022 must have at least two years’ validity. Its guidance distinguishes different voucher types and date situations; consult the original page for your case rather than assuming every promotional credit works the same way. Keep the voucher code private and give the recipients the redemption instructions. If a date or condition seems inconsistent, clarify it with the issuer before committing your money.

Check what happens when plans change

Ask whether the voucher pays for the named treatment at redemption or contributes a fixed amount if prices change. Find out what happens to any remaining balance, whether the recipient can add money and whether a booking made with it has separate cancellation or no-show conditions. Those answers should come from the issuer, not an assumption in a comparison article. Give the recipients the salon’s contact details and the confirmation. Our directory does not issue or redeem provider vouchers, and a gift-voucher badge only records documented availability, not guaranteed terms or appointment dates.
